10/10 would recommend the Blue Hound! We came on an Open Mic night. The food was delicious! I got the shirmp and grits and my wife got the chicken and waffles. There were so many options. Also, the energy of the atmosphere was so warm and inviting. I've truly never been to a place like it.

Pretty good experience upstairs at the Blue Hound. Crazy hot wings! If you can't take the heat better choose something other than those reaper wings. Ouch! Flamethrowers! Had a decent IPA and fish and chips too. Others had tacos and quesadillas and were happy with them. Service was excellent. It was pretty quiet after the show across the street. Hopefully that changes. We've been upstairs and downstairs. I probably prefer upstairs but either is fine. Check it out!

We had a truly excellent meal last night before heading up to Mohegan Sun for a concert. Cheyenne was our waitress and she was attentive, polite and had perfect timing as our meal progressed. We were recently in New Orleans and really craving classic gumbo and jambalaya, and that is exactly what was delivered to our table. We ordered the gumbo "hot" and it was perfectly spicy. The maple cornbread was a very nice contrast to the spice. Deliciously sweet, with a perfect cornbread texture. Where else can you get a Foster's can for $6?! We split a garden salad, which was $12 but enormous and the lettuce looked and tasted like it had come straight out of a garden. Rare these days for a salad at a restaurant to be that fresh! We really loved our experience, and we will be back again soon!

My neighbor recommended this restaurant since we like Cajun/Creole food. It did not disappoint. Good fried green tomatoes in the Northeast? Is that a thing? Why yes it is! Corn bread that's somehow light but not dry, soup that's more like a stew, to die for blackened shrimp, a terrific steak and friendly, attentive staff. We will be back.

Awesome food. The entire place, the background music and the menu has a slight New Orleans vibe. My wife had the jambalaya and the taste, the andouille sausage, was over the top. I have zero complaints about the jerk chicken I ordered. Some of the best jerk seasoning I've had. One of our friends had fried chicken with a spicy maple and pecan sauce. AND they have the best, lightest corn bread ever. We ate downstairs-smaller and quieter than the upstairs taproom. The only reason I did not give a five is it needs a little cosmetic work. It's also right across from the Ivoryton theater. Many reasons to go back.

Consider making a reservation for the Cookery because it's a small room and fills up quickly on weekends. There's a good reason too-the food is delicious. I love their specialty cocktails and so many things on their menu. Going at lunchtime is a nice option if you want to enjoy the menu but like a quieter vibe. Upstairs is great too, but know they've changed a bit. They no longer have darts or shuffleboard, so if you're looking for that, know before you go. The menu is the same upstairs it's just a little more like a bar vibe (lots of high tops, a literal bar, etc.).
